General thunderstorms are forecast across the Western Mediterranean and parts of Italy

SYNOPSIS

Near and to the north of a low pressure area over northern Algeria, scattered thunderstorms are likely. Near the cold front of the low over Corsica, Sardinia storms wil likely be clustered. Lightning is possible as well with partly convective precipitation systems along the Languedoc/Rousillon, and the Spanish east Coast. Closer to the low, gentle winds and little shear along with significant low level instability indicate that the potential for isolated waterspouts will continue. Overall severe threat will however be (very) low.
